After a solid first season at Texas Tech, Sophomore Pitcher Bryce Suiter has continued to show good things this summer pitching in the Northwoods Collegiate League. For his work, Suiter was named to the league’s All-Star game to be played on July 8th. The contest will be played in Dyersville, Iowa at the newly constructed ballpark at the Field of Dreams movie site. The right-hander pitched in 18 games in his first season at Texas Tech and finished with a 1 and 1 record.

We continue on with our Monday Spotlight series looking at some of the most impactful returners for Red Raider Football this season. Last week we started on the defensive side of the ball, this week we’ll turn to the offense. Impactful is a good buzz word when describing the players we’ll talk about this summer, but today’s player might be the best example. Tight end Terrance Carter Jr. is heading into his second season as a Red Raider and his final year as a college football player.

Ricardo Castillon perfoms at Premios Mundial 2025. | Credit: Isaac Castillo / Tejano Nation Tejano fans were treated to a heartfelt musical tribute this week as Ricardo Castillon, frontman of La Diferenzia, shared an intimate acoustic performance of the beloved La Mafia classic “Estoy Enamorando.” Castillon posted the performance on social media alongside a deeply personal message reflecting on the band that helped shape his musical journey.

We had some team ratings released by EA Sports on Tuesday, June 24th, and as we get closer to the release date of the newest CFB video game we’re now starting to get some individual player rankings. Wednesday saw some Top 10 position group rankings released based on initial ratings. Let’s start with a couple of position groups that don’t include a Red Raider in the Top 10. Cameron Dickey, J’Koby Williams and Quinten Joyner will all start outside of the 90s it seems.

Christian Anderson was selected 18th overall in the 2026 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Hornets. He’s the fourth Red Raider all time to have his name called in the first round. He joined that rare air after a record breaking season in his final year at Texas Tech, setting a new program best with 244 assists. Amongst several key traits that had scouts eying Anderson’s ability was clearly his outside shooting.
