EINDHOVEN, NETHERLANDS: NXP Semiconductors is in talks to acquire chip designer Ambarella, the Financial Times reported on July 31, citing people familiar with the matter. The report sent Ambarella shares up about 19%, while NXP shares fell more than 3%. Ambarella has a market capitalization of about $3.25 billion. According to the report, a deal could strengthen NXP's capabilities in software-defined vehicles, radar and electrification.

In an official statement, the seven OPEC+ countries that had previously announced additional voluntary production adjustments in April and November 2023 said they reviewed global market conditions and the outlook before taking the decision.
