MSX - The Mangasplaining Extra Newsletter

Hello everyone, Christopher here. Hope you’re doing well! It’s very hot right now in Taipei, but I feel like folks in North America and Europe are getting a pretty good taste of that. Stay cool, folks! Before we get into today’s newsletter, I just wanted to offer up another quick plug for our next MSX: Mangasplaining Extra manga, Wandering Cat’s Cage by Akane Torikai.

Hi all, Christopher here. It’s weird to write one of these when I have so many things to say and it’s been a while, but I can’t say everything in the same email because it’d be 5000 words. So let me say instead: I’m so happy to be writing to all y’all reading here, it’s been a while, and the machine is slowly starting to wind back up for Mangasplaining and Mangasplaining Extra.

Hey there! Long time no talk. Lots to say and catch you up on, but as a great man once said, the only way to finish is to start.* So let’s start with VEIL, a manga series created by Kotteri! We, being MSX: Mangasplaining Extra, produced the English edition of Veil for UDON, which was one of Publisher’s Weekly’s “Must Read Manga of 2025,” was nominated for an American Manga Award for publication design, and just had four volumes hit stores today.
