It’s mine and Victor’s 6 (!) year anniversary today. I often get asked how we met and have dished out a lot of dating advice over the years since we became a couple. I touched on it a little in my book, Practising Parisienne, which will also turn five this autumn. I started writing it whilst I was just a few months into my relationship with him, so with two important anniversaries, I thought now might just be the right time to share our story.

For the past five years we have been holidaying in the south of France, specifically near the beautiful town of Uzès in the Gard. If you haven’t been, add it to your France travel list. It’s a perfectly-preserved medieval town, steeped in some 2,000 years of history dating back to Roman times. It was also the first commune in France to be ruled by a Duke.
