Nearly 200 Dallas Mavericks employees traded their computers for hammers and paintbrushes on Monday afternoon, rolling up their sleeves to support Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity as part of the team’s 6th Annual All-Staff Day of Service. The event marked an impactful start to the 2025-26 season, as staff joined CEO Rick Welts and President Ethan Casson, along with new two-way signees Miles Kelly and Ryan Nembhard, in giving back to the community.
Jaden Hardy had financial advisors at his basketball camp
Dallas Mavericks guard Jaden Hardy hosted his fourth annual basketball camp on Saturday for boys and girls from the third through 11th grade. And this year he added a twist. With the advent of Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) running rampant across the country, Hardy invited financial advisors to come and speak to the 100 campers at the June Shelton School in North Dallas.
Malone benefitted handsomely from working with Mavs the past 10 years

Washington signs contract extension
The Mavericks on Thursday announced that they have extended the contract of forward P.J. Washington. Washington has become a key contributor for the Mavericks as well as a fan favorite for his no-nonsense style of play and his three-point shooting, which was a healthy 38.1 percent last season. His “Standing On Business” pose in the 2024 playoffs became a galvanizing moment for the team that made it to the NBA Finals.
Mavs announce hiring of several assistant coaches
Headed by Frank Vogel, on Monday the Dallas Mavericks announced the hiring of several assistant coaches who have been added to coach Jason Kidd’s staff for the upcoming season. Vogel, who coached the Los Angeles Lakers to an NBA championship in 2020 when Kidd was one of his assistant coaches, is now the associate head coach of the Mavs. After working last season as a consultant for the Mavs, Vogel is now working as Kidd’s lead assistant coach.

Jim Jackson believes Cooper Flagg compares favorably to LeBron James
From Jim Jackson’s perspective, Dallas Mavericks rookie forward Cooper Flagg has characteristics very similar to those of Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James. And as far as the Mavs are concerned, that’s a very good thing, especially considering James is a 21-time NBA All-Star and four-time NBA champion. “I think (Flagg’s) makeup is kind of like LeBron from the perspective of playmaking, even though he can dominate the game from scoring,” Jackson told Mavs.com.
Mavs re-sign Dante Exum
Dante Exum’s rebirth in the NBA will continue with the Mavericks in the 2025-26 season. The 6-5 guard officially re-signed with the Mavericks on Tuesday after they created a roster spot for him by waiving O-Max Prosper. Exum has had a revival of sorts to his NBA career since spending two seasons playing in Europe. He’s returned the last two seasons to be an important part of the Mavericks’ rotation.
