The Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) has launched the Muslim Mental Health Hub (muslimmentalhealthhub.org) the first platform of its kind anywhere in the world, bringing together a comprehensive national directory of Muslim mental health services with a pioneering AI Guided Helper. The Hub already features over 50 verified services across 10 categories ensuring Muslims searching for support have the option to connect with services that understand their faith and lived experience.

I, Mohammed Belayeth Hussain, the MCB’s Independent Election Commissioner for the 2026 Elections, am pleased to share the results of the elections. For the position of Secretary General, Dr Mohammed Wajid Akhter has won, standing unopposed, and will continue his current term for another two (2) years, from 2026 to 2028. For the position of Deputy Secretary General, Mr Maswood Ahmed has won, standing unopposed, and will continue his current term for another two (2) years, from 2026 to 2028.

The Muslim Council of Britain is hosting a groundbreaking National Mental Health Summit on Saturday 18th July alongside its Annual General Meeting at the University of East London, with more than 400 participants bringing together British Muslim organisations, mental health professionals and policy makers, as well as front line mental health community organisations from across the country to address key solutions on mental health faced by British Muslims in the UK.

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with a terrorism offence after police discovered a plan to target two London mosques that was linked to extreme right-wing terrorism. The child was initially arrested at an address in south London on suspicion of criminal damage to a vehicle and was planning to target the two places of worship in Sutton and has been remanded in custody.

We thank counter-terror police for their swift action in arresting twelve people over a terrorist threat to an Islamic event this weekend, the speed of their response undoubtedly saved lives, and we are relieved everyone is safe. This cannot be treated as an isolated incident. Barely a month after racist pogroms in Belfast and a terror-related incident in Edinburgh that left five men injured, this once again highlights that the threat facing Muslim communities is real, not imagined.

A delegation from the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB), led by Deputy Secretary General Maswood Ahmed, has concluded a series of engagements in Northern Ireland following attacks targeting minoritised communities, particularly members of the Muslim community in June 2026.

The Muslim Council of Britain is appalled by the racially aggravated assault that took place outside Noor Ul Islam Mosque in Leyton, East London, last night. Metropolitan Police officers were called to the scene, and we want to recognise the courage shown by local worshippers who stepped in to stop the attacker from causing further harm.

The Muslim Council of Britain has written to Ofcom asking why it has failed to take regulatory action against X for posting the film “Citizen Vigilante.” The movie is replete with Islamophobic tropes and has fuelled a surge in hatred. Failure to act in such clear-cut cases means that there is two-tier regulation and that Ofcom is becoming a participant in the deliberate fracturing of British society.
