Chicken Gene Map Could Transform Chick Breeding A new genetic atlas of chickens could give breeders a much more detailed way to identify traits linked to disease resistance, growth and reproduction. Researchers led by the University of California, Davis, have developed what they describe as the first comprehensive map showing how genetic variation influences gene activity in chickens.
Almarai’s poultry division supports recent growth
Almarai Company reported strong financial growth in the second quarter of 2026. The Saudi food and beverage group recorded revenue of SAR5.87 billion. This represented an 11% year-on-year increase during the quarter. Net profit remained stable at approximately SAR636 million. The company attributed the growth to strong perfo rmance across its businesses. Its poultry meat division was among the key contributors to the improved results.
