The All Member Assembly is our annual opportunity to come together, reflect on Medact’s work, and engage in shaping our direction – welcoming members old and new from across the UK and beyond. The evening will include a keynote discussion with a guest speaker (details coming soon!), updates from the organisation and an opportunity for members to vote on its adoption. Members will also have the chance to submit and vote on motions, and to elect any Trustees standing for election.

Overcrowded, damp and insecure housing leads to breathing problems, stress, anxiety, depression and poor child development. Moving around a lot makes everything harder – our mental and physical health suffer, while school, work, and relationships are made a mess of. We know that housing is a health issue. When the NHS was founded, it was meant to work hand in hand with a housing system. Now, without stable, affordable housing, our health system and our health are suffering.

Leading human rights groups, health organisations and trade unions, will publish a major new briefing examining the threat that US spy-tech company Palantir poses to the NHS and data privacy in the UK. The online launch will outline the report’s key findings and explore what they mean for the growing and urgent campaign to remove Palantir from the NHS.

This member-run workshop brings health workers together for a practical discussion about how – and why – we can start to ‘unlearn’ oppressive systems underpinning our own medical educations. We’ll consider who’s harmed and uplifted by medical pedagogy, how our education shows up in our practices today, and start working collectively towards alternative ways of learning towards health justice.
