L7 bassist Jennifer Finch has sadly passed away at the age of 59. This news comes shortly after the band revealed that she was battling brain cancer. The group issued the following statement: “We are shattered by the loss of our beloved bandmate, sister and friend Jennifer Finch, whose fierce spirit, humor and boundless creativity helped shape L7 and changed all of our lives forever.

Melting have signed a new deal with Papercut Recordings. This news comes ahead of the band’s upcoming shows:

Illumishade (Eluveitie, etc.) have joined forces with Adrienne Cowan (Seven Spires) for a new song titled “Heatwave.” You can find a video for that track below: “Adrienne’s versatility never ceases to amaze me. Her powerful screams, expressive clean vocals, and unique artistic voice made this collaboration something truly special.

Godsmack have teamed up with Sumerian Comics for a new graphic novel based on their 2000 album “Awake.” Pre-orders can be found HERE. More details were shared in a press release: “Sumerian Comics has teamed-up with multi-platinum rock band Godsmack for Godsmack: Awake, an original graphic novel inspired by the band’s landmark album Awake. APOCÆLYPSE (Vio-lence, ex-Five Finger Death Punch, etc.) have premiered a new video for their new song “Black Box.” This track is from the band’s new album, “Fænix,” which will be released on August 28. Ira Black commented on the single: “‘Black Box’ is the most personal song I’ve ever written. It’s a journey into my own mind — the Black Box. Like the device recovered from a plane crash, it holds the evidence of everything that went wrong, but also the key to understanding how I survived.

Long Goodbye have premiered a new video for their new song “My Dearly Departed.” That track is from the band’s new EP, “A Whispered Promise Of Failure,” which will be released on July 29.

The Barbarians Of California will be releasing a new song, titled “REALLY REALLY BAD,” on July 22. A teaser for that track and its music video can be found below. The band’s new album, “MEGATONS,” will be released on August 21.
