Gold Reserve lawyer released from Venezuelan prison
Gold Reserve (TSX-V:GRZ) has confirmed the release of its former Venezuelan attorney and legal representative, José Ignacio Moreno Suárez, after more than three years in prison. Moreno Suárez was released from El Rodeo I prison in Venezuela, where Gold Reserve says he had been held as a political prisoner while awaiting a criminal trial that never began. Suárez was serving as the company's attorney and legal representative in Venezuela when he was detained.
Canada flags Lithium Chile's Argentina asset sale
Lithium Chile (TSX-V:LITH) and China Union Holdings (SZSE:000036) have received notice that their proposed US$175 million ($246.23 million) Argentum Lithium transaction could pose a risk to Canadian national security. Under the transaction, announced in December 2025, China Union will acquire all outstanding shares in Lithium Chile's Argentine subsidiary Argentum Lithium, which holds its interest in the Salar de Arizaro Lithium Project. The sale remains subject to closing conditions.
