Aug 10 (Reuters) – Disney+ and Hulu said on Monday they had struck a video podcasting deal with ​iHeartMedia for six podcast titles, ‌starting with “Hey Jonas!,” as they expand their libraries to draw more users in a competitive market. The agreement extends Disney+ and ‌Hulu’s ​push into video podcasts, ⁠a format also ⁠being embraced by rivals including Netflix and HBO Max.

PEKIN, Ill. – The Pekin City Council on Monday will consider continuing to work with an automatic license plate reader company. An item on the agenda is asking for the approval of an annual contract with Flock Safety, for 52 cameras and two portable license plate reading cameras. Council documents show that the contract will cost $173,900, and is covered by a multi-year grant from the state that aims to prevent carjackings and vehicle thefts. The item comes at the request of Police Chief Seth Ranny.

PEORIA, Ill. – The cost of filling up the car at Peoria gas pumps is getting a little bit cheaper. GasBuddy reports an average of $4.27/g for a gallon of unleaded on Monday, down 8.3 cents in the past week. The average is 28.1 cents higher than one month ago, and 96.7 cents higher than one year ago. AAA reported similar numbers on Monday for the Peoria-Pekin metro area, reporting an average of $4.28/g. Their average is 5.4 cents cheaper than one week ago.

PEORIA, Ill. (25 News) – About the time Noah Palm plans to graduate next spring from Illinois State University, he also wants to take a seat on the Peoria City Council. Palm is announcing his candidacy for one of the Peoria’s five at-large council seats that are up for election next year. In a release, Palm said the city council should do more than maintain the status quo that favors large corporations and developers and leaves out the working class.

BRIMFIELD, Ill. – Severe weather made its way through central Illinois late Sunday night. The National Weather Service in Lincoln reports a tornado briefly touched down in a field two miles south of Brimfield at around 10:20 P.M.  No damage was reported. A funnel cloud extended about halfway to the ground about three miles northeast of Elmwood. Peoria, Knox, Marshall, and Stark Counties were under tornado warnings Sunday night.

PARIS, Aug 10 (Reuters) – American pop star Beyonce has ​acquired full ‌control of the SirDavis whisky brand after French luxury ‌goods ​group LVMH ⁠sold its ⁠stake to her, LVMH said on Monday, confirming earlier ​media reports in specialist trade ⁠publications. LVMH ⁠declined to provide ​further details regarding ​the transaction.

Duane “Keffe ​D” Davis, 63, is charged in Clark County, Nevada, with a single count of murder by use of a ‌deadly weapon. He has pleaded not guilty.
