By Lisa Richwine LOS ANGELES, Sept 25 (Reuters) – A woman who accused musician Jay-Z of rape in a 2024 lawsuit has recanted her claim and said she never met the billionaire rapper. The ​woman, who was identified as Jane Doe in court papers, had ‌accused Jay-Z and musician Sean “Diddy” Combs of raping her in 2000, when she was 13 years old. She later dropped that civil lawsuit, and Jay-Z sued her and her law firm for defamation and malicious prosecution.

PEORIA COUNTY, Ill (25 News) – A man has been taken into custody in connection with a series of tragic events in Peoria County Friday morning that left a woman dead and an infant found deceased inside a burning vehicle, according to 25 News. Jeremiah Duncan, 24, was taken into custody around 12:05 p.m. near Molleck and Oak Crest drives by Peoria Police and Peoria County Sheriff’s deputies, according to Sheriff Chris Watkins.

PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man is behind bars after police seized what authorities are calling one of the largest drug hauls in the history of the Peoria Police Department. Peoria County State’s Attorney Jodi Hoos and Police Chief Bradley Dixon jointly announced today the arrest and charges against Dimoniesheo L. Alexander, 36, who faces two counts of Unlawful Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance. A judge ordered Alexander held in custody until trial following his detention hearing.

The items are part of the agency’s unclaimed property stash, which includes items like lost bank accounts, insurance policy proceeds, and the contents of safe deposit boxes. Items are surrendered to the Treasurer’s Office after private entities have tried to locate the owner for several years.

By Jack Bozikis PEORIA, Ill. – (25 News) – Peoria County is seeing fewer overdose deaths so far in 2026, continuing a broader decline from a sharp spike just three years ago. Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said the county has recorded 15 drug overdose-related deaths from Jan. 1 through Sept. 24. That compares with 38 overdose deaths during all of 2025. The county recorded 36 in 2024, down from 60 in 2023.
