Join facilitators with experience in all aspects of community college careers for a virtual workshop series designed to position participants for success in the two-year-college job search and beyond.

The MLA regularly creates new resources to help students, faculty members, and policymakers navigate the evolving AI landscape. We encourage you to follow the work of the MLA Task Force on AI in Research and Teaching and the MLA Task Force on World Languages and Generative AI and to read statements on AI from the MLA Executive Council.

The MLA has created a free online course, a video series, and multilingual tutorials to help researchers and instructors make the most of the MLA International Bibliography. Free Online Course Our popular course teaches students how to use the MLA International Bibliography for college-level research and awards a badge upon completion. The five-unit course usually takes students ninety minutes or less to finish.

Summer 2026 has been pure Odyssey. I haven’t been able to go anywhere without overhearing chatter about Christopher Nolan’s film adaptation of the Odyssey. The socials have been alive with the sound of (often preemptive) cries of joy and complaints, and a scathing review of the film in the London Review of Books by the famed Odyssey translator Emily Wilson has stirred up a tempest worthy of Poseidon.

What Is a Just-in-Time Session? Most sessions at the MLA convention have to be completed and submitted by 1 April. This works well for many topics, but sometimes an organizer wishes to create a session based on something that has happened after the 1 April deadline. In order to accommodate sessions on late-breaking and timely topics that could not have been proposed by the 1 April deadline, there is the just-in-time session category.

The MLA Institutes on Reading and Writing Pedagogy, supported by the Mellon Foundation, offer targeted training to graduate students and early career instructors to help ensure that students’ early encounters with the humanities provide a transformative experience that imparts knowledge and skills that are transferrable across all disciplines.
