Hi folks, ‘tis the season for acronym competitions, starting with the NEAC AE aka the New English Art Club Annual Exhibition that celebrates figurative, observational and painterly work with a strong emphasis on drawing. Artists are invited to submit work (paintings, drawings & original framed prints) for exhibition alongside members at Mall Galleries, London next summer. Over £10,000 of prizes are available. Future Makers Open Call - is looking for a visionary Lead Artist to craft an outdoor public artwork using recycled plastic to be in situ for at least 12 months at the Future Makers site in Nottingham. How much plastic? 1 tonne of locally sourced waste plastic. A lot of plastic.

It’s a 2D heavy edition this week to coincide with the launch of the Jackson’s Art Prize 2024. Always impressed with how well it’s run open and this year sees an increased prize fund with several new categories and some notable new judges including Tracey Emin CBE and Matthew Burrows MBE of @artistsupportpledge.
