Each day, the energy has been infectious, drawing larger crowds eager to join in the festivities. Tonight, the art center will host its much-anticipated annual gala, setting the stage for a weekend filled with creativity and inspiration at the art festival.

These filaments ferry water and nutrients to plants and trees and whisk away carbon, helping to keep vast quantities of it out of the atmosphere. Laid end to end, these filaments would extend for 68 quadrillion miles — roughly 730 million times the distance between Earth and the sun. These filaments are mycorrhizal fungi.

List of duties I have been retired now for almost six years. For those who don’t know me, I was Manager of Interiors at MD Anderson Cancer Center — no small task, but I had a terrific and talented team to help fulfill that vision. So where is my life now, beyond Rockport, Texas? The other day I wrote out a list of every task I’m responsible for, just to show a girlfriend all that we do to support our individual households.
