Search ArticlesAfter a Fashion - Book Review
After a friend recommended Jen Turano for me to read, I picked up After a Fashion to try out. I expected humor, what I encountered was a zany cast of characters who got into scrapes and a good dose of mystery. If you enjoy Pepper Basham's historical romances or P.G. Wodehouse's Jeeves and Wooster series, you will love After a Fashion.
The Crown Conspiracy - Book Review
If you took the TV show Leverage and combined it with The Italian Job, you would get a pretty good picture of The Crown Conspiracy by Connie Mann. Full of suspense with a light romance thread, this story takes the best from those films and combines it with a faith element that creates an engrossing story. If you enjoy Robin Hood-like tales, you will love The Crown Conspiracy. Sophie isn't an art thief in the traditional sense.
A Brewed Awakening - Book Review
Pepper Basham is one of my top five favorite authors, so I was thrilled when I was able to read her newest book, A Brewed Awakening, in advance! While the blurb sounded amazing, in reality this story was better than I had imagined. Anyone who loved Basham's Skymar series or How to Plot a Payback by Melissa Ferguson will love A Brewed Awakening. Daphne Austen’s tea shop is all things refined, elegant, and Jane Austen, much like the owner.

Whether you're an avid fan of the series or have never heard of it, this sweet contemporary romance is an enjoyable read. If you liked Blackberry Beach by Hannon, you will love Harbor Pointe. Brighter Than Before - Book Review
If you're looking for a romcom with a subtly deep message, consider adding Brighter Than Before by Courtney Walsh to your TBR. This upcoming clean romance is features a spunky heroine who finds herself in situations she never dreamed she'd be in. If you enjoyed Everything's Coming Up Rosie by Walsh or Some Like It Scot by Pepper Basham, you'll love Brighter Than Before. A year after her husband’s affair and their subsequent divorce, Claire is still spiraling downwards.
An Unconventional Lady - Book Review
Phrenology probably isn't a word you hear everyday. It was a scientific practice where people would read their patients' beliefs, personalities, and faults based on their head bumps. (Weird, right?) But in the Regency era, it was accepted as factual. Sarah E. Ladd's newest novel, An Unconventional Lady, is a Regency romance that exposes this unusual practice and points out the fallacies. If you enjoyed Ladd's The Cloverton Charade, you will love An Unconventional Lady.
Spies, Lies, and Alibis - Book Review
Spies, Lies, and Alibis is the first book I've read by Natalie Walters and it won't be my last! This books was a cross between a romcom and a romantic suspense novel. It is funny, suspenseful, and way too much fun. If you liked Without a Clue by Melissa Ferguson, you will love Spies, Lies, and Alibis. Special Agent Ben Bradley has spent the last eighteen months working undercover in order to trap criminal mastermind Lorenzo Ramirez.
Last To Fall - Book Review
Last To Fall is the third book on the Gossamer Falls series by Lynn H. Blackburn. Those who have read Never Fall Again and Break My Fall are aware of Mo and Bronwynโs tense relationship. In this book, you get all the answers! If you enjoyed the rest of the books in the series, you will love Last To Fall. When Brownwyn Pierce, CEO of the exclusive resort The Haven, finds suspicious financial activity, she reaches out to the only person who can help her.
Closer Than She Knows - Book Review
Closer Than She Knows by Kelly Irvin is a low-spice romantic suspense novel with a high-stakes serial killer plot. Face-paced and packed with action, this standalone novel will have you up past midnight. If you loved Still Life by Dani Pettrey or Never Fall Again by Lynn H. Blackburn, you will enjoy Closer Than She Knows. Court reporter Teagan O’Rourke’s life is turned upside down when she becomes the target of a serial killer who methodically takes out her female colleagues and friends.
12 Romance Novels to Add to Your TBR
Most book lovers have a lengthy list or pile of books we affectionately call our TBR pile. And many of us don't care if the stack is towering or we have no more shelf space; we'll still buy more books and add more to our to-be-read list.
