Pensioners physical verification for Phek
Phek, September 8 (MExN): The District Treasury Officer (DTO), Phek formed all the pensioners drawing monthly pension from District Treasury Phek, that as per CTR 368, the annual physical verification for the current year 2026-2027 will be conducted from October 5 to 8 at 10: 00 AM to 3: 00 PM. Those pensioners whose details are successfully mapped from Jevaan Pramaan to Pension Payment application and Digital Life Certificate being generated are exempted from the upcoming physical verification.

DDMA Kiphire conducts verification of landslide-affected site
Kiphire, September 8 (MExN): The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Kiphire, conducted a spot verification at a house in Medical Ward, Kiphire, which was reported to be on the verge of collapse, on September 7. Berela T, District Project Associate (DPA), DDMA Kiphire, conducted the verification following the report. As a precautionary measure, the affected family has been relocated to a safer location. The house was assessed to pose a significant hazard to nearby houses and residents.

Kohima Police appeal for identification of dead body
Kohima, September 8 (MExN): Kohima Police has appealed to the public for assistance in identifying a dead body recovered from a dowstream area within Khuzama village on September 7. According to police, Khuzama Police Station received telephonic information about the recovery, following which a police team proceeded to the location and recovered the body. Police said all necessary legal formalities were observed, including an identification process among members of the public.

GPRN/NSCN (Kitovi) mourns demise of Paothang Guite
Dimapur, September 8 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN (Kitovi) has expressed grief over the passing of its comrade Paothang Guite, Kilo Kilonser, who passed away in the early hours of September 7. In a condolence message issued from its designated camp at Khehoyi, the GPRN/NSCN described Guite as a “steadfast and dedicated revolutionary” who joined the Naga national movement in 1999 and served until his last breath.
