Maryland Public Television, which is commonly known by its familiar name "MPT," is a public television network that comprises six stations that broadcast throughout Maryland as well as into the District of Columbia and parts of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. Maryland Senate Debate: Thursday, October 10 @ 7PM Watch Maryland’s U.S. Senate general election debate between top candidates Angela Alsobrooks (D) and Larry Hogan (R). Maryland Public Television (MPT) hosts the one-hour debate on Thursday, October 10. MPT’s editorial partners are WBAL-TV (NBC-Baltimore), and WRC-TV (NBC-Washington). The debate moderator is NBC News Chief Political Analyst Chuck Todd.

Chesapeake Collectibles is back! The highly successful series is returning to Maryland Public Television, and promises to be bigger and better than ever. We’re inviting supporters from across the region to bring their unique, antique and collectible treasures to the two-day Season 11 taping at the MPT Campus in Owings Mills, MD on June 24 and 25, 2023.

MPT will host the gubernatorial debate on Wednesday, October 12 at 7 p.m. between Democratic Party candidate Wes Moore and Republican Party candidate Dan Cox.
Maryland Teacher of the Year
The Maryland and National Teacher of the Year programs recognize and honor exemplary elementary-, middle- and high school teachers who are excellent instructors and education leaders in their schools and communities. All 24 teachers (one from each jurisdiction) are highlighted. See how they fared in the competition to become the Maryland State Teacher of the Year.
Concerts & Events
MPT continues to adjust its special events offerings as pandemic numbers happily keep trending downward. We plan to keep a variety of virtual events and screenings on the calendar, of course, but some in-person events will be scheduled for your enjoyment -- with proper safety precautions in place. MPT continues to follow health directives from Gov. Larry Hogan and the Maryland Department of Budget and Management pertaining to the pandemic.

2023 Program Schedule - Chesapeake Bay Week
5:30pm: NEW Eatin' Blue Catfish: Chesapeake Style There’s a new item hitting restaurant menus, grocery stores, and dinner plates across the Chesapeake Bay region. Though Chesapeake cuisine is mostly known for its iconic native species like blue crabs, oysters, and rockfish, local chefs are now touting the blue catfish, a tasty and meaty but unwelcome guest in the Chesapeake watershed. The population of this invasive species has mushroomed, threatening to upset the biological balance of the Bay.
