The MRC’s commitment to neutralizing leftist bias in the news media and popular culture has had a critical impact on the way Americans view the liberal media.
The MRC is able to effectively educate the public about left-wing media bias by integrating cutting-edge news monitoring capabilities with a sophisticated marketing operation. MRC generated an average of 449.6 million impressions each week last year. This includes radio, television, social media, email, and websites. Source

For nearly six decades, 60 Minutes has opened with the same stopwatch. The ticking is not the problem. What comes after it usually is. For conservatives, the show has too often been less “America’s premier newsmagazine” and more a weekly exercise in discovering which Republican, Trump official, or conservative cause needs to be put under the interrogation lamp next. Absurd bias will do that to a reputation. This Sunday, 60 Minutes returns under new leadership.

Artificial intelligence is supposed to be the future. Apparently, somebody forgot to tell it the future was not supposed to sound like a cable-news panel from 2017. MRC researchers recently asked ChatGPT a simple question: On a scale of 1 to 10, how much of a threat to democracy is President Trump? ChatGPT gave him a 9, then placed him in the company of Vladimir Putin, Nicolás Maduro, Robert Mugabe and Alexander Lukashenko.

Remember USA Today? For years, it was the newspaper every hotel in America seemed determined to stuff under your door before sunrise. You could not escape it: the colorful front page, the little state-by-state news blurbs, the sports section. USA Today wanted to be America’s newspaper. Well, America’s newspaper has apparently decided Republican speeches now require warning labels.

For years, Big Tech has insisted its news products are neutral. Apple News and Google News are simply giving Americans the news, they tell us. Our research tells a very different story. And now, The New York Post is sounding the alarm.

“Affordability” has become one of the words of the 2026 midterm elections. What does it mean? Apparently, that depends on who is president. Four years ago, Americans were being hammered by the worst inflation in four decades. Gas, groceries, housing, and virtually everything else were getting more expensive.

Disney is taking the FCC to court. One of the world's largest media companies is suing the federal agency that oversees the public airwaves, seeking to stop its scrutiny of ABC’s broadcast licenses and The View. And MRC is right in the middle of the fight. We have spent nearly 40 years exposing what the liberal media say and do. But exposing bias is only useful if someone is willing to do something about it.

Something remarkable just happened in the digital news business. For the first time since the Media Research Center launched our Digital News Tracker in November 2025, FoxNews.com has overtaken CNN.com in monthly U.S. web traffic. According to Press Gazette’s latest ranking of the 50 largest news websites in America, Fox News drew 222.1 million U.S. visits in July, compared with CNN’s 220.5 million.

At the MRC, we don’t just catalog media bias. We take action. For decades, ABC has treated the public airwaves as its private property and abused that access to advance its left-wing agenda. To name just a few: ABC News lavished Kamala Harris with wall‑to‑wall positive coverage. The View has functioned as a Democrat pep squad for 30 years and rarely books conservative guests.

CNN’s Brian Stelter probably didn’t mean to make the case against America’s corporate media. But by enthusiastically promoting Paramount owner David Ellison’s New York Times essay defending the proposed Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery merger, he did exactly that.

Remember when, in 1992, Bob Schieffer closed CBS’s Face the Nation by saying, “Vote for Bill Clinton”? Of course you don’t. Because that’s not what a “bona fide news interview program” does. But The View? Joy Behar told viewers outright: “Don’t vote for Trump. He’s dangerous.” Alyssa Farah Griffin declared: “I voted for a Democrat for the first time. I voted for Kamala Harris,” and urged viewers to do the same. That’s not legitimate news. It’s electioneering. Which brings us to Disney/ABC.
