Categories: Brett Duvall, the husband of MTSU women’s tennis coach Tayo Bailey-Duvall died at the age of 39. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the Bailey-Duvall family during these difficult times,” MT Athletics said in an instagram post. Duvall was originally from Indianapolis before moving to the Middle Tennessee area nine years ago, according to Woodfin Funeral Chapels.

MTSU associate professor and Director of Photography Jonathan Trundle died at age 46, according to an email sent by Media Arts Chair Bob Gordon. Gordon’s email said the circumstances surrounding Trundle’s death and any potential funeral arrangements are unknown at this time. He is survived by his wife Liberty Trundle, and his son, Arlo Trundle. “We all loved and admired Jonathan for his talent, empathy, kindness and his care for others,” Gordon said.

The MTSU Board of Trustees released a timeline for the university’s presidential search process following its quarterly board meeting on Tuesday. Current president Sidney A. McPhee announced in March that he will step down at the end of his contract in December, following 25 years in the role. The board will soon sign a contract with an executive recruitment firm to aid it in the process of choosing McPhee’s successor. “We’re going to have the correct process.

MTSU alum Brytavious Chambers, 29, was found dead in his apartment Thursday afternoon, according to Metro Nashville PD. Police said Chambers was discovered at his Nashville residence on Thursday. No foul play is suspected. Additional details about the circumstances of his death were not immediately released. MTSU’s Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve a 4.49% tuition increase on Tuesday, adding a $189 increase per semester for undergraduate, in-state students based on 15 credit hours. The tuition increase also adds $59.50 to mandatory student fees, with most of those funds going toward MTSU athletics.

After four days of heat, rain and plenty of mud, singer-songwriter Noah Kahan delivered a grand finale to Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival 2026.
