Middle Tennessee women’s soccer (1-0) defeated Troy University (0-1) behind a strong second half with two set-piece goals in the season opener. Categories: Former Middle Tennessee State University baseball head coach Jim Toman died Tuesday morning from brain cancer at age 64. Toman, who coached the Blue Raiders from 2018-2022, fought a two-year battle after being diagnosed in 2025. MTSU recorded a 78-102 record and saw an increase in production each year during his time with the program. The Blue Raiders went 29-26 in 2022, the best record since 2015.
