For years, comic book fans debated whether Sony Pictures’ live-action villain universe—housing the likes of Venom, Morbius, and Kraven the Hunter—would eventually collapse directly into Marvel Studios’ main Earth-616 continuity. For years, rumors about the plot of the fourth Spider-Man film alternated between street-level and multiversal dynamics, the latter of which may have involved drawing Knull, the villain from the third Tom Hardy-led Venom film, into the MCU.

Tom Holland isn’t just looking at his immediate future in the red and blue suit—he’s already engineering the moment he hands over the key to the neighborhood. Appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast alongside host Josh Horowitz on the eve of Spider-Man: Brand New Day hitting theaters, Tom Holland confirmed that Marvel Studios and Sony have been actively mapping out a “whole plan” to introduce Miles Morales and transition the mantle since wrapping Spider-Man: No Way Home back in 2021.

To celebrate a half-century of Marvel’s Dark Angel, Jessica Drew is stepping back into the shadows—and this time, she’s bringing one of the most terrifying symbiotes in existence along for the ride. Dan Watters (Loki) and artist Andrea Broccardo (Spider-Man Noir) are reuniting to launch an all-new ongoing Spider-Woman series arriving on November 4, 2026.

In weaving the narrative web of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, director Destin Daniel Cretton drew inspiration not only from prior big screen iterations of Spidey but also from other media, including, comics, video games and animation. Among those cited by Cretton was the beloved 90s Spider-Man: The Animated Series which was used, in part, as a template for the dangerous mutations Peter is experiencing as his Spider DNA takes control.

Despite strong performances and critical response and an Emmy nomination for co-lead Yahya Abdul Mateen II, Marvel Television has pulled the plug on the previously announced second season of Wonder Man. According to Variety, a Season 2 writer’s room never came together and Disney released the show’s writers released “to pursue other projects.” While Season 1 was produced under the Marvel Spotlight banner— reserved for more grounded, standalone stories—the series became an immediate breakout hit.

While Marvel Studios has remained quiet regarding a fourth installment in the Ant-Man series following the poor reception to 2023’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Cassie Lang actress Kathryn Newton believes the door isn’t completely closed on Ant-Man 4. Speaking exclusively with The Direct, Newton addressed the possibility of returning for another standalone Ant-Man adventure alongside Paul Rudd, revealing that the green light ultimately relies on fan demand and audience power.

As the end of the Multiverse Saga in sight,  Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings remains one of the studio’s strongest efforts. Befuddlingly, five years have passed without another appearance by the film’s star, Simu Liu, and talk of a potential sequel had all but died out until recently. However, things seem to be trending up for the star and the franchise.

After a long delay at the launch site, the countdown to the Human Rocket’s MCU debut is back on…kind of. Following reports that Michael Waldron had taken over development of Marvel Studios overdue Nova project, Kevin Feige made the first public comments about the future of Marvel Comics’ greatest Cosmic hero. Following a Hall H presentation in which he revealed a pair of 2028 films, Feige was asked by Brandon Davis what he could say about the rumors and reports surrounding the Nova project.

Speaking to Collider following Marvel Studios’ San Diego Comic-Con showcase, directors Joe and Anthony Russo provided anupdate on where the productions of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars currently stand. With the directing duo fine tuning on Doomsday ahead of its theatrical debut, Anthony Russo admitted that the looming start date for principal photography on Secret Wars is arriving at breakneck speed: “We’re deep into finishing the movie, into finishing Doomsday.

In 2022, Marvel Studios’ first Special Presentation, Werewolf By Night, was largely successful with critics and audiences alike. The self-contained story didn’t explicitly set the table for another Marvel Studios horror romp, but it did make it clear that monsters have and continue to exist in the MCU.
