Former Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD), Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has been granted GH¢50 million bail with three sureties, two to be justified, after his arrest by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) over alleged financial and procurement-related offences.

Ghanaian Socialite Frederick Kumi,  known widely as “Abu Trica,” has pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering before a United States District Court. His plea, follows his extradition from Ghana to the United States. Abu Trica entered the plea before Judge John R. Adams of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, Eastern Division.

President John Dramani Mahama has proposed the introduction of a monthly national clean-up exercise as part of efforts to improve sanitation and reduce the risk of flooding across Ghana. The President made the proposal on Friday, July 10, while participating in the first day of the National General Clean-Up Exercise at Tse Addo in the Greater Accra Region.

The party says the protest is intended to demand the release and an explanation for the circumstances under which Mr. Aboagye was arrested, insisting that the action did not follow the appropriate legal process.
