After serving his flock for over 15 years, Rev. Monsignor Donald M. Dwyer will retire from the Church of Resurrection in Rye on September 1st. Monsignor Dwyer announced the news in a Church email to parishioners.

Maman Rye, part of a 55 location chain of French cafes, opened their Rye location on Thursday, July 23rd, 2026.

The Rye YMCA will receive a $1.5 million New York State grant to develop an early learning center in Port Chester. The funding will be used to renovate the former All Souls Presbyterian Church at 55 Parkway Drive, creating seven classrooms for up to 103 children ages three months to five years.

The Rye YMCA Gymnastics team excelled at the 2026 National Championships from June 28-July 1, as the team secured eight medals and several other personal best scores on the tallest stage. Nine girls represented Rye in Greensboro, NC, and their success at the tournament is the final chapter of a very successful season.

Charles “Chuck” Tedesco passed away peacefully on July 3rd, 2026, at the age of 77. He is survived by his sons, John and Peter; he was expected to be a grandfather to John’s first child due in December. Chuck was born on February 13, 1949, in the Bronx, and was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Alice (Merli) Tedesco. His elder sister, Ellen, and younger brother, Michael, survive him along with their children and grandchildren.
