1 SpaceX has rolled Super Heavy Booster 22 out of Mega Bay 1 to Massey’s for cryogenic proof testing. Ship 42 has since joined it there on its second trip to the test site. The pair is slated to fly on Flight 15, which could come about a month after the upcoming Flight 14 if that mission goes well. The wait continues for a confirmed launch date for Flight 14 pairing Booster 21 and Ship 41, which is aiming for around mid-September. Both vehicles are awaiting rollout from the Production Site to Pad 2.

4 Five orbital launches are expected this week. Two Falcon 9s are expected to launch from Florida and California, delivering three O3b mPOWER satellites and the USSF-153 payload, respectively. Internationally, a Soyuz 2.1b will deliver the Progress MS-35 spacecraft to the International Space Station, while a Chinese Chang Zheng 2D/YZ-3 and Chang Zheng 8A are expected to deliver unspecified payloads.

About a year and an half after Spectrum’s first flight failed, the company is to fly the “Onward and Upward” mission from the Orbital Launch Pad at the Andoya Spaceport in Norway. Liftoff is scheduled for 20:00 UTC on Saturday, Sept. 5.

1 Blue Origin is expanding its Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral footprint on multiple fronts, from a new Merritt Island test site and Rocket Park production buildings to the rebuild of Launch Complex 36 and early work on nearby processing facilities. NSF’s latest Space Coast flyover captured that progress in sequence, as the company ramps up to its proposed launch and production cadence.

3 With Rocket Lab targeting to launch its Neutron vehicle by the end of this year, the company is rapidly clearing milestones in the vehicle’s development. Neutron’s “Hungry Hippo” fairing has completed all testing and integration of key subsystems, meanwhile, the company has performed hundreds of Archimedes engine hot-fires in preparation for Neutron’s debut. The company has also signed multiple contracts including one with the U.S. Space Force’s Space Systems Command.

4 As SpaceX prepares to launch Starship Flight 14 in the coming weeks, work in Florida is expanding the Starship program so the company can fly from LC-39A and, eventually, SLC-37. The historic pad that once launched Saturn and Shuttle missions, and now supports Falcon, is expected to become SpaceX’s second active Starship launch site. Pad 1 at Starbase is not expected to return to service until later next year.
