An $80 million CDC award supported a sprawling vaccine-messaging network involving social-media influencers, community “trusted messengers” and journalism-style content. Organizations funded through the CDC’s vaccine-equity program vetted, trained and partnered with 2,000 social-media influencers to address vaccine hesitancy “using their own voices,” according to a little-noticed paper written by CDC officials. The influencers were not described as government spokespeople.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention quietly helped fund pro-vaccine podcasts that appeared under the names of outside nonprofit organizations. These were not balanced programs debating vaccine policy. Their stated purpose was to increase vaccine confidence, promote COVID-19 and flu shots and teach community groups how to persuade hesitant Americans. Biden’s Department of Health and Human Services sent $151,590 to a marketing firm whose campaign “hand-picked” TikTok creators to recruit lawyers for illegal-alien minors fighting deportation. The creators told millions of followers that attorneys could help those migrants remain in America. The campaign portrayed the immigration system as racist and deliberately built to deport people. The posts disclosed a partnership with the Acacia Center for Justice.

City records show repeated full-time placements built CAIR-NY’s volunteer network, data operation, marketing and school and mosque outreach.
