The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Teachers Co-operative Credit Union hosted its Annual Scholarship and Bursary Awards Ceremony on Tuesday This year’s ceremony was hosted with the theme: From Promise to Purpose – Turning Potential Into Impact. MR RANDOLPH BROWNE better known as ELVIS of Fair Hall died on Thursday July 30th at the age of 59. The funeral takes place on Saturday August 22nd at the Belair New Testament church of God. MR GEORGE JONATHAN SAM better known as FRED SAM and TRIMMIE of Peruvian Vale died on Monday July 13th at the age of 84. The funeral takes place on Sunday August 23rd at the Life House Ministries, Church of God of Prophecy, Peruvian Vale. The body will lie at the church from noon. The service begins at 1:00 pm. Eleven students who were successful in the 2026 CPEA examinations have been awarded scholarships and bursaries from the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Nurses Association. Eight students received scholarships and three received bursaries, during the Annual CPEA Awards Ceremony, hosted by the Association on  Wednesday July 29 at the Division of Nursing Education at Largo Height.

The Principal of the Argyle Primary School has welcomed the roll‑out by the Ministry of Education, of the Digital OECS Harmonised Primary Curriculum (D‑OHPC) The D‑OHPC was developed through extensive regional collaboration across the OECS, and represents a modern, digital, competency‑based and culturally relevant re-design of primary schooling.

Steady progress is being made with the restoration work within the South Coast Marine Conservation Area in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The work is being carried out, through a collaborative effort of the Coral Land Ecosystem Advocacy & Restoration (CLEAR) Caribbean, the Caribbean Natural Resources Institute (CANARI) and the local Fisheries Department.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines joins with countries across the globe  in observing International Youth Day today. The day was established by the United Nations, and is observed  annually on August 12 to celebrate young people, amplify their voices, and address global youth-related challenges. This year’s theme is: Different Contexts, Common Aspirations. In a message to mark the day, Minister responsible for Youth, Hon Kaschaka Cupid, reflected on the significance of the theme.

The Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines has expressed gratitude to the Government of the Republic of China, Taiwan for investing in the development of Vincentians, over the past 45 years. Prime Minister Dr. the Hon Godwin Friday conveyed thanks on behalf of his Government, as he addressed a Military Welcome Ceremony, held in Taiwan on Tuesday, to mark the start of an official visit by a nine-member Vincentian delegation.

The Department of Culture hosted an official launch on Monday, for the 16th KCCU National Dance Festival at the Methodist Church Hall in Kingstown. The Department of Culture is co-ordinating the festival in collaboration with the Kingstown Co-operative Credit Union KCCU. Director of the Department of Culture, Maxine Browne says the Department is again pleased to provide the enabling environment for dancers in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Prime Minister Dr. Hon. Godwin Friday is being formally received with military honours in the Republic of China, Taiwan, where he is leading a Vincentian delegation on a five-day official visit. The visit marks 45 years of diplomatic relations between St. Vincent and the Republic of China, Taiwan. Speaking at a Military Welcome ceremony, Prime Minister Friday said his Government is committed to strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.
