St. Vincent and the Grenadines is being represented at the 20th Caribbean Week of Agriculture, taking place in Jamaica. Minister of Fisheries, Hon. Conroy Huggins is attending the event, which is being held with the theme: The New FACE of Caribbean Food Systems, focusing on Food Security, Agri-Business, Climate Smart Technologies and Export Expansion. Minister Huggins also participated in the Special Meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism (CRFM).

Minister of National Security, Major Hon St. Clair Leacock has encouraged the rank and file of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines  Cadet Force to maintain their high standards of leadership. Minister Leacock was addressing the Commandants Awards and Promotions Ceremony, hosted by the Cadet Force as part of activities to celebrate the 90th Anniversary of the organization.

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Postal Corporation (SVG POST) is celebrating its 23rd Anniversary with a series of activities. The activities are also being held to coincide with World Post Day to be observed on Friday 9th October, 2026. Speaking on NBC Radio this morning Assistant Director with responsibility for Operations at the Postal Corporation, Raphique Samuel says the activities will provide an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the postal service.

Business Owners and Operators in Kingstown are being encouraged to beautify their business places, in celebration of this country’s 47th anniversary of Independence. Prime Minister, Dr. Hon. Final arrangements are being put in place, as the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation and Sustainable Development prepares for the start of the 2026–2027 Cruise Tourism Season. This week the Ministry convened a Cruise Tourism Task Force meeting at the NIS Conference Room, to fine-tune preparations for the upcoming Season.

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority is continuing to implement initiatives which are aimed at enhancing the Tourism Product of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The Authority is moving to roll out an initiative dubbed: the Well KEPT Program, or Kingstown Enhancement Project Taskforce. Vincentians are being urged to support and participate in the National Day of Prayer which will be observed on Monday October 5th with the theme: Restore, Unite and Uplift Our Nation Through Prayer. The appeal has come from Minister of Social Welfare, Community Empowerment, Ecclesiastical Affairs and National Heritage, Hon Shevern John.

Relations between St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Belize are being strengthened, following a meeting last week, between the leaders of both countries. Several important matters were discussed during the meeting between Prime Minister Dr. Hon. Godwin Friday and the Prime Minister of Belize, John Briceno. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The issue of community partnership was discussed with Vincentians residing in New York, during a recent Town Hall Meeting. The issue was raised by the Deputy Commissioner of the Community Affairs Bureau of the New York Police Department Aldon Foster, during his remarks at the Town Hall meeting on Sunday September 20th. Mr. Foster noted that partnerships have contributed significantly to major declines in crime.
