The Needham Planning Board met on September 1st, the Public Hearing regarding the two Zoning By-Law Amendments was cancelled and rescheduled for the Planning Board’s next meeting on September 15th. To prepare for the Public Hearing, Board Members reviewed the Draft Zoning Article Exhibits, making revisions where they deemed necessary.
Pollard Information Session, 8/26/26

Needham School Committee, 8/26/26
The Needham School Committee can’t wait for school to start! With so many important issues coming up, the committee met for an extra meeting to kick off the school year. Included in this meeting are an early budget discussion, an update on the Pollard construction project and a look at some of the fees imposed on families of high school students. Needham Planning Board, 8/25/26
The Planning Board fit a lot into their evening as they met in the last week of August. They started work on the proposal of a private indoor golfing club near the Newton border, and came to a conclusion on using pesticides on Charles River Road, but the main part of their evening was spent contemplating the future of BID in Needham as the hospital continues to grow.
Zoning Board of Appeals, 8/20/26
The Needham Zoning Board of Appeals met on August 20th with several Applications on their Agenda. After reviewing the Minutes from the previous meeting, Board Members briefly discussed and approved the the Special Permit Application for 8 Hunnewell Street. They next discussed an Application for an Amendment to the Special Permit that was issued by the Needham Pool and Racquet Club, who is seeking to add a fourth court at their 1545 Central Avenue location.
LWV Canidates Forum, 8/12/26
This September, seven candidates are vying for your nomination on the Democrat Primary Ballot, running for the District Attorney’s office. Needham Select Board, 8/11/26
The Needham Select Board met on August 11th with several items on the agenda. Most notably, Select Board Members listened to a presentation on the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority Project Updates. They also heard an update regarding the Project Proposal at 193 Garden St 40B (Local Initiative Program). Board Members spoke with the Director of Communications and Community Development on an Update about Town Communications.

The Needham Planning Board met on August 4th with several items on the agenda. They began the meeting with a Public Hearing for a property on 636 Charles River Street, requesting to apply herbicide for non-domestic, non- agricultural uses.
Needham Select Board, 8/3/26
Two items were scheduled for this special session. The first was the adoption of the Memorandum of Agreement for use of Warner Field at the DeFazio Complex for the Pollard School Project. The second item also related to the Pollard project, requesting placement of a Proposition 2 1/2 override request on the November state election ballot. Needham School Committee, 7/28/26
One item needed to be discussed at this special meeting. It was the adoption of a Memorandum of Agreement for the use of Warner Field as part of the upcoming Pollard Project.
