The unlikely pairing of heroes with an even more unlikely (but somehow perfectly reasonable) pairing of villains was such a unique experience. The result is a chaos-run-amok story from Stephanie Phillips that is entertaining and compelling.

After kicking off with Doom’s most famous adversary, Reed Richards, we are now treated to an encounter between Doctor Doom and Peter Parker. I loved that Al Ewing’s approach to this story was for Doom to see Spider-Man as a sort of science experiment.

If you know me, then you know I always love not just a slow burn horror, but a new idea with great franchise potential. Thankfully for me, Jeremy Haun’s “The Folk of Dooney Hollow” is both of those things. Following young graduate student Kerri as she explores the Ozark Mountains and all it has to offer, even if that endangers her and the village of Dooney Hollow. However, someone connected to said franchise begins picking people off one by one in a whodunit horror murder mystery. So, whodunit in Amy Chase’s “Fixation #1”? Why would Shawn & I tell you? The crime label from IDW really is what drew me to this comic for review, and Amy Chase delivered.

Well, whether you are or not, I’m dragging you with me anyway.

As a comic book or manga reader, have you ever had that thought of “why’s everyone talking about this writer”? Well, for me, one such writer was Cody Ziglar, strictly because I had never read anything from him. Well, after reading this issue of Marvel’s Mangaverse anniversary event, I see I’ve been messing up and need to change that! Following from the previous issue, this one introduces us to this universe’s Riri Williams aka Ironheart.

The Tides of War have reached Atlantis! Black Manta, Siren, Ocean Master, and more have put together a deadly team hell-bent on destroying Aquaman and everything he holds dear. After much teasing and building up the anticipation, the war has arrived, and all hell has broken loose in Atlantis! Adams does an incredible job of bringing together so many characters and so much action without ever feeling as though he is cramming too much into one issue.
