The quarterback is the most important position in sports, period, and in today's NFL, we have seen a bit of a resurgence at the running back position. It seems like ever since defenses figured out how to take away the deep pass, offenses are correcting and now embracing the run a lot more than they have. This could continue into the 2026 NFL Season, but there will always be high-end, prolific quarterbacks even if the run game continues to take center stage in this league.

You always have to expect the unexpected in the NFL, but the NFC looks loaded for the 2026 season. There may be as many as 15 teams legitimately competing for playoff spots this season, and the battle to take Seattle's spot atop the conference officially begins when training camp kicks off in the very near future. The field of teams heading into the 2026 season is maybe the best and most competitive we've ever seen.

The NFL can be a brutal reminder of just how hard it is to win in this league. While things could be lining up nicely for some teams, the entire operation can come crumbling down at any minute. That's just how this league works sometimes. With training camp on the horizon, teams are gearing up for the dog days of summer, as this is where the true work is done ahead of preseason and then making our way to the regular season in September.

The 2026 NFL Season promises to be a special one, as 2025 was filled with unexpected events and wild finishes. While it seems like it'll never get here, training camps across the league are rapidly approaching, and preseason football is right around the corner. We're truly almost through with the offseason, as the regular season is now in view, and teams will soon begin the biggest preparations for the new year.

Football fans everywhere can officially rejoice: Training camp is actually almost here. The NFL offseason is finally almost over, teams are getting ready to report for work around the league, and football season will soon officially be upon us. Throughout the course of the offseason, we've looked at every team in the NFL from about every possible angle, and this is looking like it might be the deepest we've seen the field of 32 teams around the league.

It is not every day that a veteran quarterback is brought in to compete with an injured guy on a rookie contract. However, that is the predicament that the Atlanta Falcons are currently in. While the distinction of the Michael Penix injury adds a different context to things, this quarterback competition feels incredibly similar to the Minnesota Vikings duel going on.

It's not a myster that the 2024 NFL Draft's quarterback class was and is quite good, and if the first two years have told us anything, several teams found their franchise quarterbacks, and it's really not a stretch if this class goes down as one of the best in the history of the NFL. The quarterback class is now entering their third year in the league, along with the rest of the 2024 NFL Draft.

The NFC was quite the conference in the 2025 NFL Season, as not many people expected the Seattle Seahawks to represent the conference in the Super Bowl, and I am not sure we thought that the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings would finish with the same record. The 2026 NFL Season is rapidly appproaching, and with training camps on the horizon, the regular season only gets closer.

The NFL offseason is almost (mercifully) over, but that doesn't mean the trade winds are going to stop blowing anytime soon. As we get closer to the 2026 season, teams are going to take inventory of their rosters, and when training camp opens up, they will finally be able to see what they've assembled on the field and in shoulder pads. And that's where things might start brewing.

The MVP of the NFL has gone to a quarterback every single season since 2013. It's become a quarterback-driven league and 'best QB' award, for the most part. For some NFL fans, that isn't anything to get excited about. But for others, it's great to see quarterbacks winning the award, as they generally are the most valuable players on the field in most seasons. With how this trend has continued for over a decade, there really isn't any reason to believe that it won't continue in the 2026 NFL Season.
