Voting is an important way to participate in Colorado’s democracy, and being an informed voter starts with understanding what is on the ballot. With candidates, local questions and statewide ballot measures to consider, voters have many sources of information to review. Taking time to look at reliable information can help voters make decisions based on their own priorities and understanding of the issues.

This September marks 122 years since the Town of Mountain View was officially incorporated in 1904. Before its incorporation, John Brisben Walker purchased what was then known as Berkeley Farm in 1878. Less than a decade later, the Berkeley Annex subdivision was platted, laying the foundation for the neighborhood that would eventually become the Town of Mountain View.

For nearly 60 years, the Action Center has been a place where community members can turn when they need help taking the next step toward stability. Located in Lakewood and serving residents across the larger Denver metro area, the nonprofit family resource center provides support through cost-free grocery and clothing markets, along with one-on-one supportive programs that help people navigate challenges related to housing, employment, finances, family needs, and more.

First, Lutheran Hospital moved to a new location. Now, an agreement has been reached that could put the hospital’s day-to-day operations under new management. Intermountain became Lutheran’s parent system through its 2022 merger with SCL Health, which had operated Lutheran for decades. The new campus at Clear Creek Crossing at 12911 W. 40th Ave. is a six-story, 620,000-square-foot hospital that opened Aug. 3, 2024, replacing the hospital’s longtime campus near West 38th Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard.

Baby boomers are the generation that reshaped American culture, consumerism, the workplace and retirement and senior living is next. Nearly one in five Jefferson County residents is 65 or older, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, and Jefferson County’s population ages 65 to 100 was projected to grow 25 percent between 2022 and 2030, according to the county’s 2024 Housing Needs Assessment. Colorado’s older adults are among the nation’s most active.
