A spark of an idea which started two years ago is gaining traction as the Office of Sustainability launches their latest Ecohighlanders and Green Teams programs to promote sustainable behavior in campus buildings and residence halls. The Office of Sustainability (OS) at NJIT oversees sustainability initiatives on campus from hosting community events like the Earth Day fair to harvesting, tracking, and publishing sustainability data for reports.

As the year comes to a close, you might be wondering how on earth you got all your belongings into your room and why you own so much stuff (or maybe that’s just us). Don’t worry, we get it! The average college student produces 640 pounds of trash each year, and almost all of it comes from moving out. Moving out comes with transportation issues, storage costs, and time you can’t afford to waste amidst final exams and projects.

Singer Bruno Mars, best known for the hit songs “When I Was Your Man” and “Grenade,” released his highly anticipated fourth album, “The Romantic,” on Feb. 27, marking a decade since the release of his last album, 24K Magic, in 2016. I Just Might The first song, “I Just Might”, was released as a surprise on Jan. 9 prior to the rest of the album. The song has a very late 1970’s early 1980’s music vibe and has very much the ordinary Bruno Mars love song vibe to it, enhancing Mars’s loverboy image.

There are two types of classes at NJIT: ones with mandatory attendance policies and those without them. This dichotomy exists in both general education classes and upper-level electives across all majors and schools. This begs the question: what is the significance of mandatory attendance policies? Attendance has no true bearing on a student’s performance in class.

In South Asian culture, hair defines beauty standards. Straight, black, and even, your hair must be willing to bend itself into conformity. Hair becomes a performance, something that must be rehearsed and showcased to the world. But for those whose locks lie outside this narrow margin of perfection, hair becomes more of a hindrance than anything else. For Akanksha Rajagopal, a second-year Biology major, embracing her natural curls was a lengthy process.

Are you ready to join the real world, but not sure how? Jodi Kantor, a New York Times investigative reporter, believes this requires an entrepreneurial mindset, serious introspection of your craft, and an examination of the world’s needs. Kantor spoke last month at the “Women Designing the Future Conference,’’ drawing from her forthcoming book How to Start: Discovering Your Life’s Work, where she aimed to help students find their footing in the job market and greater world.

It was 2:13 a.m. I stared at the same paragraph for the fourth time. The words made sense individually, but together they refused to stay in my head. My laptop was open, my notes were ready, and I was “technically” working. But nothing was moving. That night, I realized something uncomfortable. I wasn’t struggling with the subject itself, but with my own mind. For a long time, I believed I was just tired with too many assignments, deadlines, and expectations as a PhD student.

Justin Diaz: The AI Conference was an eye-opening experience. I was hopeful about the amazing innovations that could be created with artificial intelligence in medicine, engineering, finance, technology, and art, and I am proud that NJIT is part of this innovation. However, I was alarmed to learn how people and corporations with incredible wealth could unjustly take advantage of those who played a role in this innovation and not give them the credit they deserve.

Categories: NJIT’s spring concert is coming back this year, and Magdalena Bay is set to perform on April 29, 2026, at the Wellness and Events Center (WEC). Graciously hosted and organized by the Student Activities Council (SAC), many are excited to watch them take the stage, but students still look puzzled when they hear the name. Magdalena Bay is an alt-pop duo made up of Mica Tenenbaum and Matthew Lewin. Their music mixes synth-pop and indie pop with a dreamy, electronic sound.

If you asked me a few years ago whether people could genuinely form a friendship with AI, I probably would have stared at you like you’d lost your mind. Let’s be real — most people use AI as a tool. For example, you might ask a large language model for help with homework, directions, or a random fact at two in the morning.
