SBC President Willy Rice reminds NOBTS students of the need for shepherds
on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 Willy Rice, a two-time graduate of NOBTS and president of the Southern Baptist Convention, reminded students of the vital need for pastors around the convention during his chapel address Tuesday, Sept. 1. "I've come today to hang a 'help wanted' sign above the door of the Southern Baptist Convention," said Rice, who serves as pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Clearwater, Florida.
Crescent City Worship leads during summer youth camps
on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 Throughout this past summer, New Orleans Seminary's Crescent City Worship served in ministry at a variety of camps and events across the country. Crescent City Worship (CCW), a collection of students, staff and friends of NOBTS, has been leading worship at a variety of different events at the seminary and beyond since their official formation in 2024.
New Alabama Director excited to continue NOBTS relationship
on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 NOBTS alumnus Derek Allen was recently named executive director-elect of the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions (SBOM). Allen, who earned a Master of Divinity from NOBTS, was approved as Alabama Baptists' new leader Aug. 11 during a meeting of the SBOM board of trustees. Allen is replacing Rick Lance, who plans to retire in January 2027. Lance has served as executive director in Alabama since 1999.

Museum of the Bible and Archaeology
Donate Thank you for your interest in touring the Museum on the Bible and Archaeology. It will be a pleasure to have you visit us. The museum is designed for you to enjoy a self-guided experience. If you would like a guided tour, please complete the form below. The Museum of the Bible and Archaeology will be closed for Mardi Gras break on Thursday, Feb. 27th - Thursday, March 6th Location: Luter Student Center Room 280, directly across from the elevator.
Campus Common Goods
Campus Common Goods is a resource for on-campus students at NOBTS & Leavell College. We offer grocery staple items, including canned and dry goods, household items, and basic toiletries. We also offer some weekly fridge basics like milk, eggs, and ground beef. We desire to serve our students and families and provide help with their monthly grocery budgets. Campus Common Goods pantry is open on Mondays from 9:00-11:00am and Wednesdays from 4:00pm-6:00pm. Our building is located on the back of campus.
Gary Myers named Associate Director of NOBTS Archaeology Institute
on Friday, August 21, 2026 NOBTS graduate Gary Myers has been appointed as associate director of the Michael and Sara Moskau Institute of Archaeology at the seminary. Myers is a four-time graduate of NOBTS, and his degrees include a Master of Arts in Biblical Archaeology and a Doctor of Philosophy in Biblical Interpretation. Myers has participated or co-led several excavations with the archaeology institute and has made several academic presentations on a variety of topics within the field.
NOBTS mourns loss of Alumnus Clay Carroll
on Thursday, August 20, 2026 New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary is mourning the loss of alumnus and former staff member Clay Carroll, who died Aug. 17 at the age of 38 after a battle with cancer. Carroll graduated with his Master of Arts in Missiology in 2015 and after graduating worked on campus in several positions including Director of Alumni Engagement. He is survived by his beloved wife Bekah and their four children: Eli, Lydia, Eden and Judson.
Dew challenges students during convocation service
on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 Jamie Dew, president of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and Leavell College, challenged students to examine themselves and their calling during his Convocation address Aug. 18. The Convocation service, held in Leavell Chapel, marked the official start of the 2026-27 academic year. Dew began the service by welcoming students and noting the significance of the moment.
