So now that that 12th Gen CPUs are out. What would be your choice? I am contemplating getting either a desktop with the AMD or Intel latest CPUs or wait a while and get a desktop replacement laptop with one of those CPUs and hook it up a large external monitor but the main point here is.... I've seen some initial benchmarks and it seems that the Intel 12th Gen beats AMD in single threaded benchmarks but loses in multi-threaded benchmarks favoring AMD.
Regarding the next chapter of NBR
Good evening everyone, News of the end of the line with TechTarget has likely been rippling through the forum to which many, myself included, have been asking ourselves where the hell do we surf now? I sometimes read reddit, but its success is also a detriment, simply too loud. Most of us for one reason or another had transitioned from other forums due to the lack of knowledge in the space of laptops whether it was for business or pleasure.
A NBR forum alternative!
Hello guys! I'm making a clone of NotebookReview forum! https://www.laptopforum.net/ The site is calledLaptopForum.net I'm a professional web developer with years of experience. Please join on this new forum and start posting! If you have a good idea about the new forum's logo design, feel free to suggest. I'm still working on its branding materials.
First spec and last spec of your system while an NBR member.
What specs did you have when you joined the forum and what are you finishing on?
install SSD. Advice on choosing SSD please.
Dell XPS 15 L502x Hello: I want to replace the original hard drive with a 1 TB SSD. I've never done this, so I would welcome tips. I have watched video tutorials on how to open L502x case. I want a 1 TB SSD. I know I need to order 2.5" SATA SSD. Some online advice says that since the l502x accepts 9.5mm height drives, that a 7mm SSD drive will require a 2.5mm adapter. But, on Dell forum a l502x owner says that he installed a 7mm SSD drive into the bracket and it held the new drive perfectly.
What should we call an NBR successor?
As was mentioned in the "Where do we go now?" thread, this one is to gather feedback about what a possible NBR successor should be named. I think a poll would be too difficult to manage so I'll throw my ideas here. Give the post with your favorite name a like, and you can also reply to vote or propose your own. I think we should try to stick with a .tech domain name as they can be purchased relatively cheaply, assuming no one here decides to squat on one.
