Magnitude is perfect in three 2026 starts, including a win in the Stephen Foster Stakes (G1) at Churchill Downs on June 27. The 4-year-old Not This Time colt began his 4-year-old campaign with a win in February’s Razorback Handicap (G3) and followed that with a Dubai World Cup (G1) victory in March. According to trainer Steve Asmussen, the August 8 Whitney Stakes (G1) at Saratoga is expected to be Magnitude’s next start.

SAFE Act added to T&I Surface Reauthorization The Save America’s Forgotten Equines (SAFE) Act has been garnering more and more support and attention in the past few months, within our sport and in Congress. The bill, which has over 200 co-sponsors, was recently added to the list of amendments to the Transportation and Infrastructure (T&I) Committee’s 5-year Surface Reauthorization Bill.

Reigning Eclipse Award Champion Three-Year-Old Filly Nitrogen vaulted into the Top 10 after a dominant win in the Ogden Phipps Stakes (G1) presented by Ford at Saratoga Race Course on June 5. The 4-year-old Medaglia d’Oro filly and jockey Jose Ortiz won the 1 1/8-mile race by 12 ¾ lengths. Nitrogen has won half of her 16 lifetime starts for owner D.J. Stable and trainer Mark Casse.

Golden Tempo and jockey Jose Ortiz win the Belmont Stakes (G1) presented by NYRA Bets by working out a familiar last-to-first trip. The duo trailed the Belmont Stakes field through the first 6 furlongs of the 1 ¼ mile race, just as they had done in the Kentucky Derby (G1) presented by Woodford Reserve, before pulling away late. The son of Curlin has a career record of 6-4-0-2 and $4,633,000 in earnings for trainer Cherie DeVaux and owners Phipps Stable and St. Elias Stable.

Napoleon Solo, under Paco Lopez, sat close to the pace set by locally-based Taj Mahal before pulling away to win the Preakness Stakes over Iron Honor.
