Since forming in Bloomington, alternative rock band Six Foot Blonde has taken flight in recent years, relocating to Chicago while also sharing the stage with bands like Ripe, The Nude Party, Couch and more. Ahead of a homecoming show at the Hi-Fi Annex on Friday, Aug. 28, members of Six Foot Blonde caught up with Seth Johnson for a Zoom interview, discussing their forthcoming album Hummingbird and much more. Friday night, the Naptown Hepcats played at the Studio Theater, a part of the Local Mix Music Series put on by the (Non-Profit) Center Allied Solutions for the Performing Arts. It was my first time at the Studio Theater, located in Carmel, and with seats for 200 people, it was nice to not have to pay extra to sit in a chair. Along with the Studio Theater, The Center for the Performing Arts has 2 other venues: The Payne and Mencias Palladium and The Tarkington.

An American Football concert feels more like a reflection of oneself than an exciting, off-the-wall explosion like other concerts can be. American Football uses a projector to project scenes onto themselves, mimicking outer space scenes like shooting stars for their last song, Bad Moons, or, for songs off their popular self-titled debut record, American Football, the house from the album cover.
