The North West Counties Football League can today release the opening month's fixtures of the 2026/27 season. Fixtures for August have been released for all three divisions in the League. As per recent seasons, we have to wait until leagues higher up the pyramid have published their calendars. A small number of games may be subject to change due to logistical arrangements, FA competitions and groundshare considerations.

Earlier this week, I spoke to Steve Southern – CEO at Uppermill, who will take their place in the NWCFL First Division North this season following promotion from the Manchester League in 2025/26.

The FA have today released the draws for the Extra Preliminary and Preliminary Rounds of the Emirates FA Cup. 19 of our 20 Premier Division clubs enter at the Extra Preliminary Round stage, with Step 6 clubs once again excluded from the competition. FC Isle of Man have once again elected not to participate. There will be a minimum of four NWCFL clubs in the Preliminary Round with four all-Premier Division clashes.

A total of 60 NWCFL clubs will appear in the Isuzu FA Vase this season after the FA announced the entries for the 2025/26 Season. From the Premier Division, 23 of our 24 clubs have been accepted, with FC Isle of Man the exception. They last appeared in the 2022/23 season. Trafford will be making their return to the Vase for the first time since 2007 having played in the FA Trophy since then. They reached the Third Round on their last appearance.

The majority of our Premier Division clubs will appear in the the Emirates FA Cup, the world's oldest Cup competition, in August after the FA announced the Emirates FA Cup entries for the 2025/26 Season. 19 of our 20 clubs have applied to enter the competition and all have been accepted into it as expected.
