A Rochester man has been arrested and accused of threatening President Donald Trump‘s son, Donald Trump Jr. James Gerald Eckert Jr., 39, is charged with threats to kill, kidnap, or inflict bodily harm upon a member of the immediate family of the president, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison.
NY appeals court overturns weapon conviction on discovery issue
A New York state appeals court has reversed a weapon conviction because the prosecution failed to properly provide the defense with discovery material. Defendant David A. Coffey pleaded guilty in March 2023 before Broome County Court Judge Joseph Cawley, to second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Father of Madison school shooter set for trial after appeal dismissal
MADISON, Wisconsin – A trial for the man accused of providing his daughter with the gun she used to open fire at Abundant Life Christian School in 2024 will move forward, after an appeals court rejected his motion to dismiss the charges against him. Wisconsin’s 4th District Appeals Court on July 8 rejected the attempt to have the charges dismissed, according to court documents.
