This means the 15 newly Michelin-recommended restaurants are under consideration for the organization’s Bib Gourmand or coveted stars. This group leans heavily on Manhattan restaurants, with nine entrants as opposed to three apiece for Brooklyn and Queens. Also, two of the Queens spots aren’t new at all.

If You Still Haven’t Had This Cheese Tart, You’re Missing Out
Okay, the Comté tart ($37 at the time I dined; it’s $39 now) was a lush dish with simple ingredients, where the cheese results in a flan-like texture in a sturdy shell, served with a sauce and what I’m calling “big boi morels” underneath a blanket of thin leek layers. Throughout the year, the tart remains the same, but the toppings change seasonally. Previous editions included tomatoes and truffles; the current has chanterelles, English peas, and perilla.
