My appreciation of art starts with my mom, Doris Katznelson. An artist in her own right, my mom exposed me to art from my very beginnings, whether it was watching her paint at home, showing me interesting details of her favorite works at The Legion Of Honor (I learned how to count on The Thinker’s toes), or when she spent the afternoon with me at the Tate Gallery in London when I was 8, finding the interesting objects in legendary paintings, a fantastic way to begin to study the artform.
