Hieromonk Basil (Fabián Santos Castillo) fell asleep in the Lord on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at the age of 71. Hieromonk Basil was born on June 6, 1955, in Campeche, Mexico, to José Santos and Zoila Castillo. He was tonsured a monk on October 15, 2011, ordained to the diaconate on June 3, 2012, and ordained to the holy priesthood on September 30, 2018, by His Eminence Archbishop Alejo.

Repose of Saint Jacob Netsvetov, Enlightener of the Peoples of Alaska Father Jacob (Netsvetov) of Alaska was born of pious parents in 1802 on Atka Island, Alaska. His father, Yegor Vasil’evich Netsvetov was a Russian from Tobolsk. His mother, Maria Alekseevna, was an Aleut from Atka island.

July 24, 2026 On Friday, July 24, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon presided at the Special Nominating Assembly of the Diocese of the South, convened at Saint Justin Martyr Church in Jacksonville, FL, to nominate a candidate for election as Bishop of Dallas and the South.
