Aberdeen-headquartered well integrity and decommissioning specialist Unity has successfully completed a well intervention project in Central Italy for SMAPE, deploying a bespoke thru-tubing solution for a major international oil company to achieve well isolation in a technically challenging well environment. The project was initiated after conventional cement squeeze operations were unable to deliver the required isolation due to a thief zone behind a slotted liner that was absorbing cement.

Colombian geophysical services company Vector Geophysical has purchased 30 000 STRYDE Halo-Connect land seismic nodes alongside a Nimble Receiver System, significantly expanding its capacity to deliver high-density seismic surveys across Colombia. The deal marks STRYDE’s first large-scale order for Halo-Connect since the June 2026 release of the new generation of its miniature seismic node technology.

The natural systems that absorb nearly half of all CO2 produced by human activities are under increasing stress. The policies and financial frameworks designed to protect them are not keeping pace. Viridien has recently launched its Walker Ridge Reimaging Extension in the US Gulf. The 4406 km2 extension covers 189 new OCS blocks in the highly prospective Walker Ridge area, in addition to 46.5 blocks overlapping the original Walker Ridge Reimaging programme over a 1085 km2 area.

The certification builds on a programme originally developed by PETRONAS, Malaysia’s integrated energy company and INSTEP, its technical training institute for the energy industry. To date, approximately 102 employees across PETRONAS’ operations have completed the training.
