Oman Daily Observer is an English-language daily broadsheet published from Muscat, the capital of the Sultanate of Oman. Observer is governed by an independent body- OEPPA (Oman's Establishment for Press Publication and Advertising) under the Ministry of Information, with the Information Minister as its chairman.

More than 38,000 women, girls killed in Gaza war by end of 2025: UN
Geneva: Over 38,000 women and girls were killed in the Gaza war by the end of 2025, the UN estimated on Friday, amounting to over half of the 71,000 deaths recorded by the territory's health ministry. "Between October 2023 and December 2025, more than 38,000 women and girls were killed in Gaza — the result of Israeli air bombardment and land military operations", the UN Women agency's spokeswoman Sofia Calltorp told a press briefing in Geneva.
'Cruelly hot': Japan devises new term for heatwave days
Tokyo: Blistering temperatures rising to 40°C and above will now be branded "cruelly hot" or "kokusho-bi" in Japan, the weather agency said on Friday, as heatwave days become increasingly frequent in the region. By using this designation, the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) "will more effectively call for vigilance against extremely high temperatures", it said.
Lebanese civilians head home despite warning on truce

83 horses compete at Night Endurance Race in Barka

Al Ghailani will take part at the modern triathlon (aquathlon) competition in Elite Men event category which will place on April 23 in Sanya while the other two events are Elite Women and Mixed Relay events.
