FDA Grants Traditional Approval to Selpercatinib for Locally Advanced or Metastatic RET Fusion–Positive Solid Tumors
On July 14, 2026, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted traditional approval to selpercatinib (Retevmo®) for adult and pediatric patients aged 2 and older with locally advanced or metastatic solid tumors with a RET gene fusion, as detected by an FDA-approved test, that have progressed on or following prior systemic treatment or who have no satisfactory alternative treatment options.
FDA Approves Gedatolisib With Fulvestrant, With or Without Palbociclib, for HR-Positive, HER2-Negative Locally Advanced or Metastatic Breast Cancer
On July 14, 2026, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved gedatolisib (Revtorpyk™) in combination with fulvestrant, with or without palbociclib, for adults with hormone receptor (HR)-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer without a PIK3CA variant detected following progression on or after treatment with at least one line of endocrine therapy in the metastatic setting.

Some Patients Have Less Cancer-Related Cognitive Decline With Structured Exercise
Patients receiving two-week chemotherapy cycles who participate in an aerobic and resistance exercise program have less pronounced cognitive decline than patients who do not, researchers reported in the March 2026 issue of the Journal of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. The study demonstrates how regular exercise may reduce the impact of cancer-related cognitive impairment (CRCI), a common side effect in oncology.
