The 02SERIES came at just the right time for Studio Underd0g when it launched back in 2023. While the 01SERIES had garnered a lot of attention, fears were starting to grow that Studio Underd0g might be a one trick pony with only a single style of watch to their name. The unveiling of a field watch housing a Swiss mechanical movement and featuring an innovative sapphire and lume dial helped push the brand over to become a true British darling.

It’s the 50th anniversary of IWC’s Gerald Genta designed Ingenieur SL, a model they revived in 2023 with the Ingenieur  Automatic 40 and subsequently the downsized Automatic 35. They have been celebrating this iconic model throughout the year – in spring they released a fleet of Ingenieur complication models at Watches & Wonders and now for the summer they’re releasing a vibrant new colourway. The new watch is called the Ingeniuer  Automatic 35 Pool.

It’s July 4th which means in the United States of America it’s time to break out the fireworks and celebrate one of the worst decisions they ever made. However, this year is more significant than most because it is the 250th anniversary of American independence. To mark this special milestone, Corum have released the Heritage Coin collection, a celebratory reinterpretation of one of their most famous Americana watches of the past.

When the summer rolls around, many watch brands embrace the heat by launching vibrant watches with bold, playful designs that encourage you to get outside and enjoy the warmer weather. However, Chronoswiss have taken a different approach to the concept of a summer watch launch by presenting two watches centred on the material choice of gold. What other precious metal could represent the warmth of the sunshine? Those watches are the Opus Dakar Sundown and Pulse GMT Frosted Guilloché Gold.

The Hermès Cape Cod is a bit of an odd duck. Released in 1991, it was a bold slice of Hermès’ quirky Parisian style and one that’s become a bit of an icon for the maison. But it’s also one that appeared a little before they took the watchmaking part of their watches more seriously. Now though we have a refreshed Cape Cod, one that’s taken what Hermès has learned with the supremely cool H08 and adapted it for its own ends. Henri d’Origny is a legend.

MB&F has released the MB&F LM101 EVO NYC Edition to mark the opening of its new Lounge in Manhattan. The piece is limited to 25 examples and is available exclusively through that single location. It combines an 18K rose gold case with a black PVD-treated dial plate, making it the first LM101 EVO to appear in this material and colour combination. The LM101 line first appeared in 2014 as one of the smallest and thinnest models in the Legacy Machine family.

Mid-century dress watches have never gone out of style and the latest from German-based Anders & Co is a prime illustration of why. A curvaceous 37mm case paired with a grey enamel dial – alongside metallic salmon and crackled white – it’s the kind of watch that you’ll find yourself dressing to match. To suit even the slimmest shirt sleeves, it measures a svelte 6.65mm thick, largely thanks to the ultra-slim manual-wind movement inside.

The Awake Sơn Mài Frosted Leaf has always been about its dial, hand-layered Vietnamese lacquer over metal leaf. Previously that has always been silver leaf, but for the new Royal Blue, the French independent has changed that leaf from silver to pure gold. It’s limited to 200 pieces, and the first time Awake have used gold leaf and sơn mài together on a watch dial.

Breitling has honoured cycling legend Eddy Merckx with the Top Time B01 Eddy Merckx, a yellow-dial chronograph that gives the brand’s cycling series its biggest name yet. Last year Breitling turned the Top Time into a cycling tribute with a pair of chronographs honouring the Coppi-Bartali rivalry. This year the series welcomes the Belgian whom Breitling, with little fear of contradiction, calls the greatest rider the sport has produced – and it does so with a single, well-chosen colour: yellow.
