Our Compass
Blog
Our Compass incorporates the philosophy of non-human and human animals to be free from exploitation, speciesism, and suffering.
Our Compass is a non-violent group for advancing and aspiring vegans. We are abolitionists, rejecting speciesism. Anyone who embraces these ideals along with veganism, and who also rejects homophobia, racism, patriarchy, and sexism, is invited to participate.
Our Compass will publish alerts, articles, essays, and information – including letters and petitions. Source

Copenhagen, Denmark, 21 july 2023, Greenshop concept Source VeganFTA Nobody kills animals for the environment or because they care about dirt, they kill animals for profit, greed, gluttony, taste. Just own it because the disingenuous “sacrificing of ethics” for the betterment of soil is transparently, ridiculously, false. It’s like one of those “healthy soda” ads where people pretend to drink soda because it’s healthy. But honestly, they don’t…because it’s not.
You just might be a genius if you can you tell the difference between a cow and a carrot……….
tags: diet, food, Health, nutrition, vegan Commentary I’m going to point out right away that nonvegans often get confused as to why vegans eat food that, according to nonvegans, looks like food vegans oppose, and they ask this question often, using emojis and pictures and a gotcha sense of winning it………………..
This Is Not An Ad
Source LCA Synopsis: A fast-food cook is haunted by dark visions that blur the line between nightmare and reality. Director Dustin Brown’s Statement: “This Is Not An Ad is a psychological horror film that confronts the manipulation in marketing. Vibrant billboards, catchy slogans, and ‘clean’ branding are used to mask uncomfortable truths in what we eat, wear, and use.
Why the hidden lives of pigs are … hidden
Source Vegan FTA See full documentary at Hidden Lives of Animals If you eat them, then you can see what is violently required of these animals who have done nothing wrong, nothing to deserve such hellish, violent, painful, and inherently-inhumane “fates”. The documentary is brief, less than ten minutes, you have the luxury of time and the privilege of being human. You also have the benefit of choice and the quality of empathy.
Because, of course, only true animal lovers use caustic paste and duct tape on babies …
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: the “dairy industry” abusively-reproductively exploits cows and then has the absolute cruel audacity to deny the maternal bond THEY facilitated, stealing the female babies and forcing them into “calf prisons” and killing “unprofitable” males, and people buy the lie that it’s “humane”, based on “welfare”, and is totally “natural”, LOLOLOLOLOLOLing at ludicrously anthropomorphized commercials with dancing, talking, singing cowswho wear cosmetics.
The challenge nonvegans have with “humane” …
Click HERE to skip my commentary and go directly to Animal Outlook’s investigation. In the “animal agriculture” (anag) industry, the word humane is regurgitated continuously, and usually by people who either have no understanding or knowledge of the “humane” consequences inflicted on animals, or by people who do know but do not care, instead manipulating definitions to justify the violent suffering of animals.
Apparently, it really does need to be said: you don’t actually HELP lambs by KILLING lambs…
Video Source Animal Rising The “animals have great lives and one bad day” narrative using bucolic description and imagery has been radically defended by people unwilling to accept the factual suffering and inherent “badness” of killing animals exploited by humans.
But somehowsomewheresomeway there really IS a way to violently and torturously kill animals humanely …
There is a comment on the above video by Mike indicating, “This is a truly disgusting video and i appreciate the efforts in exposing the atrocities. There is a way to humanely raise livestock for consumption. I’m not a vegan, but I also don’t condone abuse or torture of animals.” It’s odd that Mikes never define what they mean by “way”.
I mean, if it’s all so humane and ethical …
People willingly disclose information if it demonstrates consistency between their WORDS and their ACTIONS, between the CONSEQUENCES of their PROMISES. So if the USDA and the USDA cheerleaders are not transparent, then there is a reason: because contrary to claims of “humane”, the reality is violent suffering and painful death required of animals exploited for food (USDA releases years of slaughterhouse records following lawsuit)andthe public pays for it.
“…because it’s just so much easier to pretend animals aren’t being violently harmed and torturously killed.”
