We provide training, practical help, expert advice and represent the views and experiences of practitioners working throughout England and Wales, to champion their vital role in helping prepare children for a bright future.

Coram PACEY Cymru funding success / Llwyddiant cyllido Coram PACEY Cymru
Coram PACEY Cymru are pleased to share we have been successful in gaining funding through the Curriculum for Wales Grant support programme, under the Foundation Learning priority. The grant of £184,000 until March 2028 is aimed at the funded non maintained nursery sector which includes childminding settings. The project supports the sector in Wales to enhance quality practice in nursery education and ensure continued alignment with the Curriculum for Wales.
Staying safe in the sun
Whilst the current hot weather is a welcome break from a typical British summertime, it’s important to make sure that the children in your care are staying safe in the sun. As well as being more vulnerable to things like sunstroke and dehydration, children’s skin is very delicate and can be easily damaged by the sun.

It is becoming quite common for parents to use technology such as location trackers to keep their children safe. These devices take many forms including smartwatches, GPS tags, mobile apps and tracking devices, all of which allow parents to know their child’s whereabouts at any time.
Regional childminder awards 2025: Your winners
In April 2025 we launched our annual Regional childminder awards to recognise and celebrate the very best childminders. Those who make a difference to the lives of the children they care for, who set the bar high and are an inspiration to all in the profession. We had so many fantastic entries, some truly incredible childminders who go above and beyond to support children, their families and local communities. We were blown away by the level of commitment, passion and knowledge shown.
Applications for final expansion to the 30 hours government-funded childcare are open
Today the government has announced that applications for final expansion to the 30 hours government-funded childcare are open. They also share research findings into the impact of the rollout from September 24 following a parent survey and the launch of a consultation on how to make better use of outdoor space.

It was a huge privilege to attend the Social Care Wales Accolades event for 2025 to see childminder members shortlisted for the WeCare Wales award and to be recognised for their amazing achievements. It supports a great build up to Childminding Week taking part from the 10th-16th May where we will come together to celebrate together.
