PA Life congratulates the founders of Manchester PA Network – Amanda Hargreaves and Melanie Sheehy – who, in response to lack of networking groups for the assistant community outside of London, set up their own network 15 years ago… It started as a single networking event with just 50 curious people in 2011. Today the Manchester PA Network is a thriving community of more than 700 PAs, EAs, and VAs, and has raised over £250,000  for The Christie Charity.

The business events industry generated an estimated £19.3billion in direct expenditure in 2024, with more than one million conferences and meetings taking place across the UK – the highest figure in five years.

I can’t recall exactly, but I believe I first heard about PA Life through a PA show or a similar industry event.

Millie brings valuable  experience from the supplier side to her agency role having worked in an event catering business previously. How has your experience from event catering business shaped your approach to delivering successful events for clients?

Executives often spend a large portion of their week travelling which is not ideal for productivity. Between airport queues, delays and limited privacy, commercial flying can turn even the most organised executive schedules into chaos. Private jet travel, however, offers a smarter way to make the most of time in the air and helps PAs support more efficient working days. Privacy is a great advantage in supporting high performing executive schedules One of the biggest advantages is privacy.

A new study reveals that employers are actively prioritising core human skills, including AI literacy, digital literacy, and confidence.

Corporate events have evolved. Gone are the days of uninspired venues, forgettable catering and predictable formats. Today, they are powerful tools – designed to engage, inspire and leave a lasting impression. How can EAs, PAs and other event organisers maximise the impact of their corporate events?
