PA Veterinary Medical Association

If you want to shape PVMA’s future, consider nominating or running for an open seat on the Board of Trustees. A diverse set of seats represent the different disciplines in veterinary medicine and four geographic regions across the state. Get involved today and help move the mission of the PVMA forward to ensure the vitality of the profession. Board meetings are generally held four times a year. Individuals who have successfully graduated from an approved school or college of veterinary medicine or in lieu thereof certification acceptable to the PA State Board of Veterinary Medicine, and has passed a license examination required by the State Board of Veterinary Medicine. This consists of full time, part-time, academic, government and out of state. New veterinary graduates are complimentary for the remainder of the year in which they graduate and the following calendar year.

All interested speakers must complete the online submission form with the proposed session titles and descriptions to be considered. Proposals must include presentations to fill either 3 hours or 6 hours. Our schedule is divided into 1-hour segments so you can do 3 separate topics to fill the 3-hour block or 6 topics for the 6-hour block. Why did I decide to volunteer? Dear PA veterinarians, The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture has updated our Quarantine Order regarding movement restrictions and testing requirements for animals imported into Pennsylvania. This replaces the Quarantine Order released on Apr. 5. To summarize changes from the Apr. 5 Quarantine Order, PA now requires testing of lactating dairy cattle from all states in accordance with the Federal Order. The timeframe for testing has been extended from 5 days to 7 days to mirror the Federal Order.
