Blockchain is a decentralized data storage technology that operates over a peer-to-peer network in which participating nodes collectively maintain and validate data. It consists of sequentially linked blocks, each containing the cryptographic hash of the preceding block. This chained structure preserves data integrity because any modification alters the hash value and disrupts the continuity of the chain, making tampering computationally impractical.
