LEE COUNTY FAIR Posted Monday, July 13, 2026 6:55 am DONNELLSON - The Lee County Fair’s Kids' Day on Friday was buzzing bright and early even on a hot midsummer day, with livestock showings and the ‘cutest rabbit’ contest. The Keith Leff magic and comedy show played routinely throughout the afternoon. Crowds ricocheted from the animal show and concessions to carnival games and rides.

Lucia Darnell and the Lady Hounds gave up three runs in the bottom of the first inning and then held the Lancers in check in the second before a big fifth inning put Fort Madison in a big hole.
EPA extends IAAP lead azide storage permit
AREA NEWS Posted Sunday, July 12, 2026 12:18 pm MIDDLETOWN - The Iowa Army Ammunition Plant announced today that it has been granted an extension of its emergency permit for the storage of lead azide as it continues to work toward a safe disposal solution. The material was stored on site for production purposes. However, as it is no longer needed for production, it has been reclassified as hazardous waste.

He was held in Lee County Jail.
