PEN PRESS UDUS, the campus media outlet of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS) is set to organize its first edition of journalism clinic. The virtual training, scheduled to be held on the 24th of November, 2024 will be treating the topic, “The Art of Investigative Interview”: Strategies for Success. The training session will feature seasoned media expert, Adejumo Kabir, the Editor of Southern Operations for Humangle as the trainer.

Like every other student, Mustapha Usman popularly called TWolly gained admission into Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto UDUS to study Biochemistry in 2016. Despite being a Science student whose course was not related to Mass Communication or Journalism, his passion for extracurricular activities made him join campus journalism and other clubs. Mustapha who graduated in the 2020/2021 academic session created a niche for himself before leaving campus.

On a bright Monday morning in July 2024, at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), a Non-Governmental Organization, or NGO known as Junior Chamber International Nigeria (JCIN) led a community-based initiative to mitigate climate change by planting trees in the university community. JCIN initiated the project with awareness, calling for volunteers to participate in the tree plantation. Enthusiasm of the volunteers who gathered to plant Neem tree seedlings was beyond ordinary.

On the 26th of May, 2024, the management of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto matriculated new students for the 2023/2024 academic session. A cursory look at the university bulletin titled: UDUS NEWS BULLETIN issued in May 2024, PEN PRESS discovered that the university matriculated 3,500 students for the 2023/2024 academic year with the breakdown of the admitted students given by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Lawal Suleiman Bilbis.

On the eve of April 1, 2024, a Facebook user, African King, posted a screenshot of a day-old post, allegedly made by Nigerian Afrobeat sensation, Davido. From the screenshot, it appeared that the singer made the post on his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle, threatening to unleash his ‘inner portable’ against his colleagues.
